Excess baggage

Each airline has its own rules on baggage allowance and related fees. Information will be provided at the time of booking. In case of extra or overweight baggage, a fee will be applied to be paid locally either cash (local currency) or by credit card.

Restricted objects

In principle, dangerous goods are forbidden to be carried by passengers and crew, except as otherwise provided in Table 2.3.A of the IATA DGR and in line with operating airlines procedures.
With Regulation (CE) 185/2010 measures on aviation safety were implemented, clearly identifying items that passengers are not allowed to take to the security restricted areas and items that cannot be carried either in carry-on or checked baggage (Appendix 4C and Appendix 5B).


Safety rules

Since 2006 new safety rules limiting the transportation of liquid substances in hand luggage have come into force. These rules apply to all passengers departing or in transit from airports in the 27 Member States of the Europian Union, as well as from airports in Iceland, Norway and Switzerland.
Restrictions to the transportation of liquids also apply to: water and other beverages, gels, semi-liquid pastes, lotions and aerosols.
Personal hygiene products such as toothpaste, shaving foam, hair gel, lip gloss and creams also fall within the limitations.

TRANSPORT OF LIQUIDS:

  • Liquids or gels can be transported on board the aircraft only if not exceeding 100 ml;
  • Containers mus be inserted in a sealed transparent plastic bag with a capacity of maximum 1 liter;
  • MAX 1 bag for person is allowed;
  • Plastic bags must be inspectable and resealable.

ALWAYS ALLOWED:

  • Baby food sufficient for the duration of the flight
  • Medicines needed during the entire duration of the flight

MEDICINES

Liquid medicines that the passenger needs during her/his trip (flight and stay) are allowed in hand luggage even if quantity exceeds 100ml, if accompanied by a prescription.

SPECIAL FOOD

Liquid products for specific diets (for example intolerance to lactose or gluten) necessary for the passenger for the entire journey (flight and stay) are allowed in hand luggage in quantities exceeding 100ml.

Baby food

Fluid infant food in quantities exceeding 100ml is allowed for infant passengers. The transportation of hot water for food dilution is not permitted in hand luggage. Please refer to your airline for information on the possibility to get hot water once on board.
Separate liquids from the rest of your luggage.
At security checks, you are required to place the transparent bag with liquids under the X-ray machine in a separate basket, such as jackets, coats and electronic devices (smartphone, laptops, etc.).

This also applies to special transports such as rare animals or plants that do not fall on the exportable goods lists, as well as counterfeit products, precious and ancient artifacts, drugs and medicines, weapons an ammunitions.
